Team Rama supporter files plaint against Margot

COUNCILOR Margot Osmeña faces a complaint before the Commission on Elections after her campaign materials were posted on a fence of a Team Rama supporter in barangay Guadalupe.
Zacarias Hermosisima filed a complaint affidavit before Ferdinand Gujilde, Cebu City south district election officer, after discovering Osmeña's posters on his fence in 885, Andres Abellana St. in Guadalupe.
He also attached photos of Osmeña’s illegal posters to his affidavit. “Wala gyud na sila nananghid nako (They never asked my permission)” he told Cebu Daily News.
He mounted Team Rama posters inside his house a few weeks ago. In a phone interview, Osmeña said she had no idea that her posters were on Hermosisima’s wall.
“I apologize and I’m not going to give any excuses,” she said. At noon yesterday, she immediately dispatched her supporters to have her posters removed.
An hour later, she went to Hermosisima's house to check if her order was followed and was contented on seeing that it was.
She however, didn't leave her car. “I could apologize personally but you know, people would think it’s too much drama, but please let him know that I’m sorry,” Osmeña told a TV5 news crew who spotted her outside Hermosisima’s place.
She also promised that she would be willing to act on other complaints against her. “If there are other complaints, let me know because I would be more than happy to address them,” Osmeña said.
Hermosisima said he accepts Osmeña’s apology but he still wants a case filed against her.
But Comelec guidelines state that once a candidate facing a complaint corrects his or her action within three days, a disqualification case against him or her will no longer be required.
Gujilde asked all candidates not to wait for a complaint to be filed against them before they remove their campaign materials.
“They should have that sense of responsibility,” said Gujilde. /Correspondent Patricia Andrea D. Pateña
