Poe denies calling Cebuanos cheaters
CEBU, Philippines - Team PNoy senatorial candidate Grace Poe has denied reports that she called Cebuanos cheaters.
“I never said that Cebuanos are cheaters. I said dinaya ang father ko ng iilan dito sa Cebu. Hindi ko sinabi na lahat ng Cebuanos mandaraya. I am so sad that this statement was twisted. I felt very helpless,” Poe said in a press conference yesterday with other LP candidates.
Poe explained she can never say that considering how warmly and genuinely she is received here in Cebu whenever she visits.
“Maraming salamat sa inyo patuloy na tiwala. Huwag kayong maniwala sa kwento kwento, mataas ang tingin at pagtingin ko sa mga Cebuanos. Talagang binaligtad ng mga kritiko ko ang mga istorya ko,” said Poe.
Poe, daughter of the late actor Fernando Poe Jr. and actress Susan Roces said that if elected into the Senate, a big chunk of her Priority Development Assistance Fund shall go to Cebu especially the poor and the children.
The senatorial candidate said that his father loves Cebu as he grew up here during his teenage years.
Poe recently landed in the third top position for the senatorial race in the latest Pulse Asia Survey.
Poe was in Cebu yesterday for a campaign together with reelectionist Chiz Escudero, both were endorsed by actress and presidential sister Kris Aquino.
