AVGCC, CCC bets rule Junior Masters

CEBU, Philippines - Bets from Alta Vista Golf and Country Club and host Cebu Country Club ran away with all the titles at stake in the Junior Masters Tournament of the Philippine Golf Foundation played Thursday and Friday.
Alta Vista players bagged six titles while the hosts won four. The top two players for each category earned the right to play in the national finals set late this month.
BOYS DIVISION
Harvey Sytiongsa of CCC ruled class A (15 to 17 years old) of the boys’ division shooting rounds of 79 and 82 for a total of 161 strokes.
First runner-up honors went to his teammate Julian Pierre Neri who fired 89 and 76 for a total of 165. Second runner-up was Sir Cross Abarintos of Alta Vista with 169 (82-87).
For class B (13-14 years old) Alta Vista’s Weiwei Gao ran away with the crown shooting rounds of 77 and 72 for a total of 149 strokes. Peter Tyler Po of CCC finished second with 164 (76-88) while third place went to Dillon Joseph Tsekiri also of CCC with 167 (85-82).
Weiyu Gao, younger brother of Weiwei, ruled class C (11-12 years old) with a two-day total of 153 on rounds of 76 and 77. First runner-up was Mactan’s Russel Bautista with 156 (83-73) and second runner-up was CCC’s Jed Daniel Yap with 177 (85-92).
In class D (9-10) Kevin Tae Wan Park of Alta Vista bagged the title in runaway fashion firing a total of 154 strokes on rounds of 78 and 76. Second place honors went to Iloilo’s Franco Rivera with 179 (83-96) while third place went to CCC’s Joaquin Velez with 181 (94-87).
The class E (7 to 8) title went to Raymond Edward Tampus of CCC with a total of 94 strokes firing nines of 46 and 48. The competition for this age group is limited to only nine holes per day.
Second place went to Ren Moromasa of CCC with 98 (49-49) while third place went to Renzo Ricardo King with 112 (57-55).
GIRLS DIVISION
Alta Vista’s Ericka Lim led the winners for class A firing rounds of 76 and 75 for an aggregate of 151 strokes.
First runner-up went to Alta Vista’s Gabrielle Marie Crystal with 166 (82-84) while second runner-up was Alyeska Yunam of CCC with 168 (86-82).
Lois Kaye Go of CCC ruled class B with a total of 154 strokes on rounds of 76 and 78. First runner-up was Keilla Wilson Choi also of CCC with 174 (82-92) and completing a sweep for the host club was Mika Mari Lua on third with 201 (102-99).
Alta Vista’s Junia Gabasa took home the class C title with 159 strokes on rounds of 80 and 79. Runner-up honors went to Mactan’s Angela Mangana with 174 (86-88).
Weifang Gao, also of Alta Vista, dominated class D with a total of 184 strokes on rounds of 88 and 96. First runner-up was CCC’s Jordan Ouano with 242 (120-122) followed by Iloilo’s Piage Aguirre with 254 (126-128).
