Boy 2 Quizon: Bubble Gang is family

Senatoriable Antonio Trillanes met with the members of the entertainment press in a gathering held yesterday at Imperial Palace, Quezon City. Of the course, the host of event is Mother Lily Monteverde of Regal Entertainment who was dearly addressed by the host (Jun Nardo) as the “mother of all senators” because of the support that she is giving to a number of senatorial aspirants.
The audience he had with the movie press was the second for Sen. Trillanes. When Mother Lily supported him in 2007, the producer brought some members of the media to jail where Sen. Trillanes was being held in captivity. He remembers seeing familiar faces and was thankful for the support, not only that of Mother Lily but the press as well.
Sen. Trillanes was caught off guard with some of the naughty questions thrown at him by the movie press but he gamely answered them all. He was asked what can he say about gays in the military and if ever he had an encounter with any of them.
“Even in the PMA before, we had members whom we know to be gay but as long as they are not cross-dressers, I don’t see any problem,” the good senator said.
“It is not being taken against them kung sila man ay gay. Wala naman sa policy na ganoon. Sa PMA, we try to look the other way. May na-experience din tayo. Brushes lang, hindi naman consummated,” said Sen. Trillanes which sent the room into laughter.
How does he find the experience having an audience with the entertainment press corps who are different from the hard news reporters who usually cover his events or sorties?
“The movie press corps writes light stories, yung nakakagaan ng buhay, as opposed to the hard news na talagang bad news ang kanilang nire-report. The movie press writes something light and it’s something that we look for as an escape sa pang-araw-araw na problema,” said. Sen. Trillanes.
He thanked Mother Lily for her support and for helping him the first time he ran for the Senate for the first time. Even if he was in jail then and could not go around to campaign, he lauded the effort of Mother Lily to help. He believes that the help extended to him by Mother Lily was a big help in making him win.
He also thanked the late action star Rudy Fernandez whom he saw on TV wearing the Magdalo shirt. He didn’t know Rudy personally but he was very happy when he saw the video.
If ever his life would be made into a movie, he would like to be portrayed by Cesar Montano or Richard Gomez, with Dawn Zulueta as leading lady to play his wife.

Boy 2 Quizon, the grandson of comedy king Dolphy treats his fellow cast members in Bubble Gang as family, his second family. That’s why he looks forward to seeing them every Monday, their scheduled taping day. He had been with the show for ten years.
For him and the rest of the Bubble Gang cast, taping on Bubble Gang is not work but an opportunity to meet each other and bond. Of course, with such diverse personalities, sometimes their respective moods get in the way but they do understand each other. “A lot of things happen on the set pero di naman nakakaapekto sa samahan namin,” said Boy 2.
If they don’t have a taping on a Monday, Boy 2 says they miss each other’s company and the happy mood on the set.
To be aired tonight on GMA 7 is the second part of their summer special. Guest stars are Mikael Daez, Sheena Halili, Chariz Solomon, Dennis Trillo, Bubbles Paraiso, and Sef Cadayona.

TV producer Cristina Decena is now using the name Cristina Castillo, the ex-wife of comedian Ariel Villasanta in the commercial that she did for Manila Pest Control (Mapecon). She is using her maiden name because she has broken off with her first husband.
Even if her relationship with Ariel did not turned out that well, she was able to develop a friendship with Ariel’s mom, the late Mommy Elvie Villasanta, for which she produced the show titled “Mommy Elvie @ 18” which ran for three seasons. She considers Mommy Elvie as her second mother and she was hurt when Mommy Elvie died.
As a tribute to Mommy Elvie on Mother’s Day, they are showing “Mommy Elvie, A Mother’s Day Special” on GMA News TV Channel 11 on Saturday, May 4.
She no longer has any communication with Ariel although they are civil with each other. Ariel even agreed to be a part of the special tribute she did for Mommy Elvie. She does not see herself reconciling with Ariel. She says she is happy taking of her business and being with her children.
In June, she’ll go into TV hosting in a new show, “I Do”, which will feature unique weddings and true love stories. “Abangan nyo kasi kakaiba ito. Maraming makukuhang insights about relationships. Sa GMA News TV Channel 11 rin ipalalabas,” she said.
