Casiño sees 9M votes in 12 partylist groups

BAYAN Muna Rep. Teddy Casiño will be banking on the support of 12 partylist groups, who promised to deliver him nine million votes on election day.
"For me, that is a very encouraging. Aside from the fact na nung pinag-aralan namin ang partylist survey nagdadala sa akin are 12 partylist groups. If we look at the surveys of these groups, these could translate into an expected around nine million votes.
At dahil dinadala din nila ako sa mga campaign areas nila, we take that as base votes ko," said Casiño, who is running for senator.
The partylist groups Casiño was referring to included the Anakpawis, Migrante, Gabriela Women's Party, and ACT-Teachers.
Despite not being included in the recent Social Weather Station survey on senatorial candidates, he said that other independent surveys and mock elections by other groups ranked him at the top 5 to 7.
"May fighting chance na papasok ako sa top 12," he added.
Casiño is running independently as a senatorial candidate along with other independent candidates, Puerto Princesa City Mayor Edward Hagedorn and religious sect leader, Bro. Eddie Villanueva.
He said he was also banking on the support of the Cebuanos, which has a registered voting population of 2 million in the 2010 elections.
If elected senator, he promised to promote the development of industries since Cebu is an industrial hub.
