PB commends Dalaguete cops

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Board has commended the Dalaguete police chief and seven of his men for a successful buy-bust operation last month that resulted in the arrest of eight suspected drug pushers and users.
Aside from the commendation, Inspector Dexter Basirgo, SPO2 Cleto Pia, PO3 Alan Sanoy, PO3 Noeh Rosales, PO2 Arnel Balansag, PO1 Christopher Romarate, PO1 Ulysses dela Torre, and PO2 Godofredo Glipa will also receive cash incentives from the provincial government.
The resolution sponsored by board member Carmen Meca however did not specify the amount to be given to each of the policemen, which will be charged to the intelligence fund of Acting Governor Agnes Magpale.
The resolution was passed yesterday during the board’s regular session.
“We salute men and women from the PNP and PDEA for their dedication sa ilang trabaho,” Meca said.
Basirgo’s team conducted a buy-bust operation last April 21 in Barangay Tuba, Dalaguete town resulting in the arrest of eight suspected pushers and users and the seizure of assorted firearms and explosives.
Charges for violations of the Dangerous Drugs Act, illegal possession of firearms and explosives, and Comelec gun ban have been filed against Mark Raymund Muñoz, Alvin Gonzaga, and Jumel Paz, among others.
