Will a group from Cebu win Smart’s biggest interschool dance competition?

CEBU, Philippines - Calling dance groups from all over CEBU. Mobile leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is looking for the student dance group worthy to be declared the country’s best. More than P4 million worth of prizes await the winning teams and their schools in the Smart Prepaid Jump In Dance Off touted as “the country’s biggest interschool dance competition”. The Smart Prepaid Jump In Dance Off is currently giving all high school and college-based dance crews nationwide a shot at the grand prize through the online auditions which started this summer and will end on June 8, 2013. “Streetdance is fast becoming a steady subculture for the youth and we would like to give them an avenue to showcase their talent via the Smart Prepaid Jump In Dance Off,” said Jane Basas, head of Smart’s Prepaid Marketing Group. “Smart is encouraging the youth to pursue their passions – like dancing - and we are calling on all qualified dance groups to join the competition and show their moves to the world.” The competition is open to all dance groups in high schools, colleges and universities all over the country composed of members aged 13 to 24. There will be separate categories for high school and college. To join the online auditions, dance group must have 16 to 20 members from the same high school or college – all subscribers of Smart Jump In SIM or regular Smart Prepaid. Members of the group may be all males, all females or a mix of males and females. The group must make a video with all the members dancing to music of the group’s choice. Video must be in mp4, .mov, .flv, .mpeg, .wmv, or .avi format. Video entry can be submitted online via the official contest site www.smartjumpin.com. Online entry form available on site should be completely filled out before uploading. Video may also be emailed, along with all the required information to smartjumpin@gmail.com. Those who will get through the online auditions will be invited to the regional screenings happening by the end of June until early July. The best of the best will battle it out in the grand finals happening at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on July 20, 2013. “Aside from the cash prizes that will be awarded to the winning teams and their respective schools, the best dance group will also get a chance to be an official Smart Jump In crew, dancing to the official Smart Jump In anthem popularized by international Fil-Am music icons and Smart ambassadors apl.de.ap and Jessica Sanchez,” added Basas.
