Mobile app launched to help subscribers pay bills on time

CEBU, Philippines - Considering on-time bill payments as a key to a healthy financial life, a telecommunications company recommends a mobile application to help its subscribers conveniently pay their bills on time.
G-Xchange, Inc. (GXI) president Paolo Baltao said that the GCASH mobile application enables subscribers to pay their bills in a matter of seconds via the smartphones, thus avoiding the hassle from long queues and waiting time in bill payment centers.
One can download the GCASH app for free in the Apple App Store, Google Play, and BlackBerry App World.
After launching the mobile app, the user can do a one-time registration and put funds in the GCASH wallet.
Once ready, the user could pay his bills by clicking on the “Pay Bill” link after logging in with the mobile PIN.
Paying bills via GCASH is free of charge even if the user doesn’t have an airtime load provided that he has enough balance in the GCASH wallet for the transaction to push through.
Baltao also clarified that non-smartphone users need not to worry since they could also avail of the convenient bill payment service.
“Even for non-smartphone users, they can dial *143# for free on their phones and select GCASH to enjoy the same experience,” he added.
GCASH could cater to bill payments for Globe Postpaid line, Globe Broadband and Globelines accounts, credit cards and utility bills such as Meralco, Davao Light, South Cotabato II Electric Coop, Visayan Electric Company, Manila Water, Maynilad, Subic Water, Laguna Water, and Skycable.
GCASH payments are processed by billers in one to two banking days.
The GCASH user has the option to easily fund his GCASH wallet through online bank transfer, mobile banking or cashing-in via the Globe Stores and GCASH outlets.
It also has a two-factor authentication system that makes GCASH account safer and absolutely secure.
Notifications are sent to the user’s mobile phone on the status of transactions for electronic reference.
All the transactions done using the mobile application including the current balance could be found either in the opening screen or the GCASH Mobile App moneybook which lists down all the GCASH transactions for the month in real-time.
The app can be downloaded in supported versions of the following operating systems including iPhone iOS version 4.3 or up, Android OS version 2.0 or up, and BlackBerry OS version 5.0 or up. Globe officials further advised the public to schedule a bill-payment cut-off time and create an easy-to-access location for their bills which could be organized according to their respective due dates. They could also enroll in paperless billing to receive electronic bills. “Knowing when your bills are due and making a habit of paying them on time can save you money and reduce your stress,” as stated in the company’s press statement. GXI, a fully-owned subsidiary of Globe Telecom, pioneered the internationally-acclaimed mobile commerce service called GCASH which was launched in the Philippines in October 2004. GCASH allows Globe and TM subscribers to send and receive cash conveniently and delivers over one single platform the three major cash transactions made by consumers in the form of purchase and payments, person-to-person transactions, and domestic and international remittances.
